ART ENCOUNTERS PROGRAM

Bus-In Volunteer: Help seat school children at bus-in performances to the Silver Center for the Arts at Plymouth State University. Watch the performance and fill out an evaluation.

  • Friday, October 26, 2007, 9:30-11:30 am - “Carmen”: Santa Barbara State Street Ballet
  • Thursday, April 17, 2008, 9:30-11:30 am – “Catch-22”: The Aquila Theatre Company

Art Ambassador Volunteer: Attend an in-school performance at a regional school.
Meet the performer, introduce the performer to the students, and watch and evaluate the performance.

  • October 2007- May 2008 – “PSU Chamber Singers” conducted by Dr. Daniel Perkins
  • October 11-17, 2007 – “Building Fairy Houses” with Tracy Kane
  • January 16-18, 2008 – “Modern Dance” with Terminal Hip Dance Theater
  • January 22-25, 2008 – “Hamlet” with actors from PSU Department of Music, Theater & Dance
  • March 12-14, 2008 – “Russian Folk Artist: Firebird and Matryoshka Doll making Workshop”
  • Thursday, March 27, 2008, 9:30-11:30 am – Master Class, “The Grascals”: Bluegrass Band (Moultonborough Academy)
  • May 5-8, 2008 – “Australian Storyteller & Folk Singer” with Paul Taylor

Juried High School Art Exhibit: Register schools submitting art work, assist with installing exhibit, teach Gallery Works to school children, attend opening of exhibit, and/or serve refreshments.

  • January 23 & 24, 2008 – “Museum Studies” with Rachel Belmont
  • January/February 2008 – “Installation/De-Installation Team”
  • February 10, 2008 – “Opening Ceremony” of Juried High School Art Exhibit
  • February 13 & 14, 2008 – “Galleryworks” with Rachel Belmont

SILVER SERIES PERFORMING ARTS PROGRAM
Arrive early to help set up Friends of the Arts tables with printed materials, artists merchandise and refreshments. Attend and evaluate a nationally recognized performance at the Silver Center for the Arts-PSU. At the end of the performance, help serve refreshments or sell artists merchandise.

  • Thursday, October 25, 2007, 7:00 pm - “Carmen”: Santa Barbara State Street Ballet
  • Thursday, March 27, 2008, 7:00 pm – “The Grascals”: Bluegrass Band

FUNDRAISING (Detailed information will be available if you choose these events)
Join a Committee or Help Out the Day of the Event!

  • Annual Art Auction & Benefit Dinner – (March)
  • Membership Drive (May/June)
  • “Arts for Kids” Annual Golf Tournament – (July)
  • Development Committee – (on-going)
  • OFFICE VOLUNTEER: Come help out in the FOA office on Friday mornings with day-to-day office duties.
  • MARKETING: Help promote events by hanging up posters and other creative ideas to increase patronage.

We are dedicated to arts education, enrichment and improving the patronage and support of NH artists. Our policy is that no individual will be turned away from participating in our programs due to insufficient funds.
