October 3, 2009
The 25th Annual Plymouth Fall Art Show will take place on the Plymouth Town Common, Saturday, October 3, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. rain or shine.
More than twenty talented artists from all over New England will display their work, most of which will be for sale. Art will be judged and prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Oil/Acrylic; Watercolor; Photography/Mixed Media; Pastels/Oil Pastels. The Youth component of the Fall Art Show will feature work from children in grades 1-12. The Youth Art Show will take place Thursday, October 1, from 5:00-6:30 p.m. at The Arts Cellar, a space shared with Artistic Roots on 85 Main Street. The work will also be displayed on the town common on October 3.
This year’s music will be performed by Jim Hollis, who plays pop and rock classics for audiences of all ages. In addition, a quilt will be raffled to benefit Keep the Heat On, a local fuel assistance program, and there will be face-painting for children.
“This is the second year that Friends of the Arts is presenting the Fall Art Show. We have a deep appreciation for having received the coordination of this event from the Plymouth Chamber last year. It is the perfect way for Friends of the Arts to begin our season,” said Maundy Mitchell, Friends of the Arts trustee and coordinator of the event. “We have the opportunity to collaborate directly with Plymouth Parks and Recreation. We have the involvement and sponsorship of many community businesses. We get to host an event at the heart of our community that highlights children and professionals with their art. There is no better way we could begin our year or serve our community.”
Special thanks to the main sponsor of the Plymouth Fall Art Show, Community Guaranty Savings Bank, and to The Lucky Dog Tavern and Grill, Main Street Dental, Main Street Bakery, The Gallery at Red Gate Farm, and Comfort Keepers. Thanks also to Plymouth Parks & Recreation, the A+ Afterschool Program, and the Pemi Youth Center for their continued involvement and support.
The mission of Friends of the Arts is to present quality visual and performing arts that are affordable and accessible to children and adults as both observers and participants. The Regional Arts Council is dedicated to arts education, enrichment and improving the patronage and support of New Hampshire Artists. No individual will be turned away from participating in the programs due to insufficient funds.
