Fall Art Show
The 24th Annual Plymouth Fall Art Show took place on the Plymouth Town Common, Saturday, October 4, 2008. The Art Show is presented by Friends of the Arts Regional Arts Council and Plymouth Parks and Recreation. More than twenty talented artists from all over New England displayed and sold their work. Art was judged and prizes were awarded in three categories: Oil/Acrylic; Watercolor; Photography/Mixed Media. Cabaret Night
Friends of the Arts Regional Arts Council hosted live selections from Plymouth State Theatre’s 2006 sold out production of Cabaret at the William Tell Restaurant in Thornton, New Hampshire. Cast members from Plymouth State University performed selected numbers from Cabaret while patrons feasted on a menu created especially for the night by Chef Vinny Rubbe.
Casablanca Casino Night
Friends of the Arts first annual Casablanca Casino Night held Friday, April 27th at the Winnepeski Ballroom at Church Landing in Meredith was a big success thanks to local supporters. The inaugural Casablanca Casino Night turned out to be a sure bet for fun and excitement for everyone that attended. Aside from the gambling action, there was great food and spirits, a plethora of fabulous prizes, and wonderful music to dance the night away.
Backwards Brunch
It felt like a scene out of Alice in Wonderland, complete with the mad hatter and the March hare. But April Fools! It was the first ever “Backwards Brunch” sponsored by the Friends of the Arts on Sunday, April 1 at the Common Man in Plymouth. Hundreds of children brought their parents to the event that featured a buffet meal including items like “meatloaf cake” (with pink and green mashed potato icing), M&M pizza, and a bubbling fountain of barbecue sauce for the ribs and wings. Of course the kid friendly menu also included hotdogs and fries as well as macaroni and cheese. But at a backwards brunch, you always eat dessert first. Read More
